สถาปัตยกรรมแนวโบราณโรงแรมแมนดารินโอเรนทอล ดาราเทวี จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ : วิเคราะห์รูปแบบและแนวคิด

Abstract

การค้นคว้าอิสระฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะศึกษารูปแบบและแนวคิดการสร้างสถาปัตยกรรมแนวโบราณในโรงแรมแมนดาริน โอเรนทอล ดาราเทวี ที่เป็นโรงแรมแบบร่วมสมัย ตามความเชื่อดั้งเดิม งานช่างโบราณแขนงต่าง ๆ จะมีการแบ่งแยกเป็นงานช่างที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นเพื่อรับใช้พุทธศาสนาและสถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์ และงานช่างที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นสำหรับคนทั่วไป และผู้คนโบราณก็เคารพในขนบธรรมเนียมนี้เป็นอย่างดี อย่างไรก็ตาม เมื่อยุคสมัยเปลี่ยนแปลง มีการลอกเลียนนำงานช่างแนวโบราณที่เกี่ยวข้องกับพระมหากษัตริย์และพุทธศาสนา มาใช้ในงานสถาปัตยกรรม และประดับตกแต่งของคนทั่วไปมากขึ้น โดยเฉพาะสถานที่ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการท่องเที่ยว โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง โรงแรมได้มีการลอกเลียนแบบงานสถาปัตยกรรมที่แสดงฐานันดรศักดิ์ทางศาสนาและพระมหากษัตริย์ รวมถึงการลอกเลียนแบบศาสนสถาน และสิ่งประดับตกแต่งต่าง ๆ มาไว้ในโรงแรม เพื่อสร้างเอกลักษณ์ และดึงดูดนักท่องเที่ยว ผลของการศึกษารูปแบบและแนวคิดการสร้างสถาปัตยกรรมแนวโบราณในโรงแรมแมนดาริน โอเรนทอล ดาราเทวี พบว่า ทางโรงแรมนำงานช่างโบราณ ทั้งด้านสถาปัตยกรรม และด้านประติมากรรม มาเป็นสิ่งก่อสร้างหลัก ๆ ของโรงแรม เพื่อต้องการสร้างเอกลักษณ์อันโดดเด่นเพื่อให้เห็นว่าโรงแรมเป็นสถานที่ก่อสร้างอยู่ร่วมกับวัฒนธรรมล้านนา ซึ่งเป็นการสร้างจุดขายของโรงแรมที่มุ่งตอบสนองความต้องการด้านสุนทรียภาพของนักท่องเที่ยว โดยมิได้แสดงจุดประสงค์ที่แท้จริงของงานช่างโบราณ และมิได้เคารพในรูปแบบและคติความเชื่อดั้งเดิมแต่อย่างใด

The purpose of the research is to study the form and concept of ancient-style architectures at Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi which is luxury modern hotel. According to the believes in old time, every ancient art has been divided to the art that related to Buddhism and Monarch and art for normal people. All ancient people have respected to this tradition. However, when it comes to present day, many ancients arts that involved with Buddhism and Monarch have been copied in many tourist places especially hotels. Many hotels copy style of Monarch and Buddhist architecture and sculpture in their hotel just because they would like to build their unique and make new impression. The result from studying the form and concept of ancient-style architectures at Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi shows that the hotel brings both ancient architectures and sculptures to build their main buildings in order to build their sell points and show that they are one part of Lanna culture. They also need to build first impression for tourist. However, they do not inform any tourist about the real purpose of each architecture and sculpture they copied and they do not respect the original concepts and believes in ancient arts.
