Abstract

การกินนั้นมีมิติที่แสดงถึงการอยู่รอดของมนุษย์ ในขณะเดียวกันยังสามารถเปลี่ยนจากคนไม่รู้จักกันให้กลายเป็นมิตรและตระหนักถึงความเป็นมนุษย์ของกันและกัน ศิลปินได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากการสร้างสรรค์จากวัฒนธรรมการกิน โดยนำกระบวนการเชื่อมรอยต่อของสิ่งของที่แตกร้าวมาใช้ประกอบแผ่นทองแดงที่แตกต่างกันเข้าด้วยกัน โดยความแตกต่างของแผ่นทองแดงนั้นถูกแสดงออกด้วยการกัดกรดโลหะให้เป็นแม่ลายจากต่างชาติพันธุ์และวัฒนธรรม นำมาประกอบเป็นรูปทรงคล้ายชามข้าวเพื่อเชื่อมโยงกับวัฒนธรรมการกิน (ข้าว) ของคนในกลุ่มประเทศอาเซียน โดยวิธีการปะติด (collage) แม่ลายร่วมกันเพื่อให้เกิดเอกภาพที่ตั้งอยู่บนความหลากหลายทางกายภาพ (unity) และความเท่าเทียมทางความสำคัญ (democratize) แทนความหมายของการอยู่ร่วมกันของมนุษย์อย่างเท่าเทียมบนพื้นฐานของความต่างกัน

Eating is the essence of human survival. Eating also transforms strangers into friends, provokes enemies to sympathize with each other. The creative inspiration exhibited here therefore is derived from the eating culture. The philosophy of traditional ceramics mending process in Japan. "Kintsugi", and in China "Staple-riveting", are also referred here as means to hold various engraved copper plates together as a rice bowl, the Asian eating vessel. The variety of motifs engraved on the copper plates is derived from traditional motifs from the ASIAN countries. Using collage techniques, the harmonious and democratized unity is formed among the different motifs, reflecting the idea that though men are born differently, they are all equally human.
