This research, originating from the global aging society, has found problems in the use of digital technology among the elderly, who are a group of individuals with physical limitations and experience of using it. It is because digital user interface designers lack the knowledge and understanding of design especially for the elderly. The researcher therefore conducts this research that aims to 1) study user experience data and principles of user interface design for the elderly, 2) analyze guidelines of user interface design for the elderly, 3) develop a prototype of digital design aid model user interface design for elderly and 4) test, use, evaluate and improve digital design aid model user interface design to be suitable for the elderly. It is mixed methods research (quantitative research and quasi-experimental research) in the form of research and development that has two main target groups including user interface designers and the elderly group that is the target group. This research uses the research process by reviewing the literature and using data collection tools including the elderly questionnaire, in-depth elderly interview, elderly observation, in-depth user interface designer interview, and interview with experts in various related fields. Knowledge synthesis in user interface and user experience design comprises three main considerations for designers in digital design for the elderly including 1) content, 2) accessibility, and 3) design. They were used by the designers to create digital user interfaces for the elderly by bringing their knowledge to use through digital design aid model. It therefore came up with an operating system to create user interfaces for the elderly in a web-based format in two parts, including user interface library to turn work pieces into digital designs and the image processing system that allows designers to bring in the work that is designed for the system and display what the elderly see. The standard for user interface design for the elderly is the core knowledge gained from this research. From the trials by web-based designers to design prototype applications for the elderly, we achieved 82.50% of the designer's satisfaction with real time savings and 77.66% of the elderly's satisfaction from trying out designer-made application prototypes.
งานวิจัยฉบับนี้มีที่มาจากการเข้าสู่สังคมผู้สูงอายุทั่วโลก ได้พบปัญหาการใช้งานเทคโนโลยีดิจิทัลของผู้สูงอายุที่เป็นกลุ่มบุคคลมีข้อจำกัดทางร่างกายและประสบการณ์ในการใช้งาน โดยกลุ่มนักออกแบบส่วนประสานผู้ใช้งานซึ่งเป็นผู้ออกแบบในงานดิจิทัลยังขาดความรู้ความเข้าใจในการออกแบบสำหรับกลุ่มผู้สูงอายุโดยเฉพาะ ผู้วิจัยจึงได้ทำการวิจัย โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาข้อมูลประสบการณ์และหลักการออกแบบส่วนประสานผู้ใช้งานสำหรับผู้สูงอายุ 2) เพื่อวิเคราะห์แนวทางในการออกแบบส่วนประสานผู้ใช้งานสำหรับผู้สูงอายุ 3) เพื่อพัฒนาต้นแบบคู่มือดิจิทัลมาตรฐานการออกแบบส่วนประสานกับผู้ใช้งานสำหรับผู้สูงอายุ 4) เพื่อทดลองนำไปใช้ประเมินผลและปรับปรุงแก้ไขคู่มือดิจิทัลมาตรฐานการออกแบบส่วนประสานผู้ใช้งานให้เหมาะสมกับการใช้งานสำหรับผู้สูงอายุ โดยเป็นงานวิจัยแบบผสมผสาน ทั้งเชิงคุณภาพและเชิงปริมาณ แบบการวิจัยเชิงทดลอง ในรูปแบบการวิจัยและพัฒนาที่มีกลุ่มเป้าหมายสองกลุ่มใหญ่ ได้แก่ กลุ่มนักออกแบบส่วนประสานผู้ใช้งาน และกลุ่มผู้สูงอายุที่เป็นกลุ่มเป้าหมายปลายทาง โดยใช้กระบวนการวิจัยทั้งการทบทวนวรรณกรรม การใช้เครื่องมือการเก็บข้อมูลทั้งจากการทำแบบสอบถามของผู้สูงอายุ การสัมภาษณ์ผู้สูงอายุเชิงลึก การสังเกตการณ์ผู้สูงอายุ การสัมภาษณ์นักออกแบบส่วนประสานผู้ใช้งานเชิงลึก และสัมภาษณ์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญในด้านต่าง ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้อง เพื่อสังเคราะห์องค์ความรู้ในการออกแบบส่วนประสานผู้ใช้งานและประสบการณ์ผู้ใช้งานของผู้สูงอายุ อันประกอบไปด้วยสิ่งที่นักออกแบบต้องคำนึงในการออกแบบดิจิทัลสำหรับผู้สูงอายุโดยหลัก 3 ประการได้แก่ 1) ด้านเนื้อหา 2) ด้านการเข้าถึง 3) ด้านการออกแบบ สร้างคู่มือดิจิทัลให้นักออกแบบใช้งานเพื่อสร้างส่วนประสานผู้ใช้งานสำหรับผู้สูงอายุโดยนำองค์ความรู้มาใช้งานผ่านคู่มือดิจิทัลได้ จึงเกิดเป็นระบบปฏิบัติการเพื่อสร้างส่วนประสานผู้ใช้งานสำหรับผู้สูงอายุในรูปแบบ Web-based ให้นักออกแบบเข้าไปใช้งานใน 2 ส่วน ได้แก่ ส่วนห้องสมุดส่วนประสานผู้ใช้งานสำหรับผู้สูงอายุเพื่อนำชิ้นงานมาสร้างเป็นผลงานออกแบบดิจิทัลสำหรับผู้สูงอายุ และส่วนประมวลผลเชิงรูปภาพ ให้นักออกแบบนำผลงานที่ออกแบบมาให้ระบบประมวลผล แสดงผลสิ่งที่ผู้สูงอายุมองเห็น โดยมีมาตรฐานในการออกแบบส่วนประสานผู้ใช้งานสำหรับผู้สูงอายุ เป็นองค์ความรู้แกนกลางที่ได้จากงานวิจัยนี้ จากการทดลองใช้งานโดยนักออกแบบใช้งาน Web-based ออกแบบแอปพลิเคชันต้นแบบให้กับผู้สูงอายุ ได้รับความพึงพอใจจากนักออกแบบในระดับ 82.50% ประหยัดเวลาในการทำงานได้จริง และได้รับความพึงพอใจจากผู้สูงอายุ 77.66% จากการทดลองใช้งานต้นแบบแอปพลิเคชันที่นักออกแบบสร้างขึ้น
