การสร้างคำในภาษาไทยสมัยสุโขทัย

Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มุ่งหมายจะศึกษาเรื่องการสร้างคำในภาษาไทยสมัยสุโขทัย โดยศึกษาหาข้อมูลจากจารึกสมัยสุโขทัยและหนังสือไตรภูมิพระร่วง เนื้อหาแบ่งเป็น 5 บท บทที่ 1 บทนำ กล่าวถึงความเป็นมาของปัญหา วัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัย ขอบเขตของการวิจัย วิธีการดำเนินการวิจัย และประโยชน์ที่คาดว่าจะได้รับ บทที่ 2 กล่าวถึงการสร้างคำผสาน คำประสม คำซ้อน และคำซ้ำ ในภาษาไทยสมัยสุโขทัยในรูปของกฏ บทที่ 3 กล่าวถึงหน้าที่ของคำผสาน คำประสม คำซ้อน และคำซ้ำ เมื่อปรากฏในประโยค บทที่ 4 ศึกษาเปรียบเทียบการใช้คำในภาษาไทยสมัยสุโขทัยกับสมัยปัจจุบันทั้งด้านรูปคำและความหมาย ในด้านรูปคำ คำที่ใช้ในภาษาไทยสมัยสุโขทัยมีทั้งที่ใช้สืบต่อมาถึงสมัยปัจจุบัน และคำที่ไม่ปรากฏใช้ในสมัยปัจจุบัน คำที่ยังมีใช้สืบต่อมาถึงสมัยปัจจุบันนั้นคงรูปคำเดิมก็มีและเปลี่ยนแปลงรูปคำไปบางส่วนก็มี ส่วนในด้านความหมาย คำที่ใช้สืบต่อมาถึงสมัยปัจจุบันนั้น คงความหมายเดิมก็มี และเปลี่ยนแปลงความหมายไปบ้างก็มี บทที่ 5 เป็นการกล่าวสรุปผลการศึกษาและข้อเสนอแนะ วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ยังมีภาคผนวกซึ่งรวบรวมรายคำ คำประสม และคำซ้อนที่ใช้เป็นข้อมูลในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ รวมทั้งที่ปรากฏเป็นตัวอย่างในบทที่ 2 โดยจำแนกตามโครงสร้าง พร้อมทั้งจัดทำดัชนีไว้เพื่อความสะดวกในการศึกษาค้นคว้าแก่ผู้ที่สนใจ

This thesis is a atudy of word formations in the Thai language during the Sukhothai period, using the data obtained from all of the Sukhothai inscriptions and the Thai Buddist classical literature “Trai-phum Pra-Ruang”. Thesis is divided into 5 chapters. Chpter 1 deals with the preamble, objectives, scope and methodology of the research including the expected outcomes. Chapter 2 presents principles upon which complex words, compound words, synonymous compounds, and reduplicated words in the Sukhothai Thai were formed. Chapter 3 states the functions of complex words, compound words, synonymous compounds, and reduplicated words when appear in sentences. Chapter 4 is a comparative study of word formations and meaning of the Sukhothai Thai and the current Thai. It was found with regard to Thai word formations, that more than half of words used in Thai in the Sukhothai period have been used up to present. The words that have been used up to the present time consist of the forms that have not been changed, and those that have been changed in part. Some of the words used up to present time still retain their meanings while some have lost their original meanings. Chapter 5 discusses the results of the study and provided suggestions. This thesis also provides two appendices. They are the list of compound words and of synonymous which are used as data in this study. The words in the list are presented in categories according to their structures. An index of those words is also provided to facilitate this study.
