ชาวต่างชาติในจิตรกรรมฝาผนังฉากมารผจญในสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น

Abstract

สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะศึกษาถึงคติและรูปแบบ รวมทั้งวิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์ของชาวสยามและชาวต่างชาติในสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น จากภาพชาวต่างชาติที่ปรากฏในจิตรกรรมฝาผนังฉากมารผจญในสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น จำนวน 5 วัด ได้แก่ พระที่นั่งพุทไธสวรรย์ วัดดุสิตาราม วัดสุวรรณาราม วัดบางยี่ขัน และวัดทองธรรมชาติ ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ ได้ผลสรุปจากการวิจัยว่า ภาพชาวต่างชาติในจิตรกรรมฝาผนังฉากมารผจญในสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้นที่ทำการศึกษา น่าจะได้รับการสืบทอดรูปแบบและคติมาจากจิตรกรรมฝาผนังฉากมารผจญในสมัยอยุธยาตอนปลาย เนื่องจากมีความคล้ายคลึงกันบางประการแต่ได้รับการปรับปรุงเปลี่ยนแปลงรายละเอียดปลีกย่อยให้เป็นไปตามสถานการณ์บ้านเมืองในสมัยที่ได้เขียนภาพนั้น ซึ่งคติและรูปแบบที่ได้รับการสืบทอดนี้ ต่อมาได้กลายมาเป็นสัญลักษณ์ในจิตรกรรมฝาผนังฉากมารผจญในสมัยหลังไปโดยปริยาย นอกจากนี้ภาพจิตรกรรมที่ได้ทำการศึกษายังแสดงให้เห็นถึงทัศนคติและความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติ ในสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น ซึ่งเป็นทัศนคติและความสัมพันธ์ที่ได้ถูกเปลี่ยนแปลงไปในแง่ลบ ตั้งแต่หลังรัชกาลชองสมเด็จพระนารายณ์มหาราชในสมัยอยุธยาตอนปลาย เป็นต้นมา และได้สืบทอดต่อมาจนถึงสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น

The objective of this research is to study concepts and forms (Patterns) as well as to analyze Siamese relationship with foreigners in the early Rattanakosin period recarding appearance of foreigners in the scene of Maravijaya in mural paintings from five temples : The Buddhaisawan Throne Hall, Wat Dusidharam, Wat Suwannaram, Wat Bangyeekhan and Wat Thongdhammachart. From the study, it can be concluded that the concepts and forms (patterns) of foreigners in the early Rattanakosin’s Maravijaya mural paintings had probably been transferred form those in the late Ayutthaya period. The reason for this is that there are certain similarities although changes and modifications occurred upon time and situation. The transferred concepts and forms (patterns), later have automatically become symbol of the Maravijaya mural paintings. Besides, the studies mural paintings also demonstrate attitudes and Thai former Siamese, relationship with foreigners in the early Rattanakosin period that have been negatively changed from the end of King Narain reign in late Ayutthaya period to the early Rattanakosin period.
