พัฒนาการของวัฒนธรรมดนตรีดั๊บในประเทศไทย : กรณีศึกษา แก็ป ที-โบน

Abstract

งานวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประวัติความเป็นมาและพัฒนาการของวัฒนธรรมดนตรีดั๊บในประเทศจาไมกาและประเทศไทย รวมถึงศึกษาและวิเคราะห์บทเพลง Respect Dub โดย เจษฎา ธีระภินันท์ หรือที่รู้จักกันในชื่อ แก๊ป ที-โบน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า วัฒนธรรมดนตรีดั๊บเกิดขึ้นในประเทศจาไมกาภายในปี พ.ศ.2510 เป็นต้นมา สามารถแบ่งออกได้เป็น 4 ช่วงคือ 1.ช่วงเริ่มต้น (พ.ศ.2510) โดยนำเอาเพลงเร็กเก้มาตัดเสียงร้องออกโดยวิศวกรเสียง Smithy คงไว้เฉพาะเสียงดนตรีซึ่งถูกจำกัดไว้ใช้ภายในระบบเครื่องเสียงของผู้จัดทำเท่านั้น 2.ช่วงพัฒนา (พ.ศ.2511-2515) วัฒนธรรมการบันทึกเสียงเปลี่ยนไป เพลงเวอร์ชันปรากฎขึ้นบนหน้า B ของแผ่นเสียง ทำให้ดีเจสามารถโทสต์ลงบนที่ว่างที่เกิดขึ้นได้ 3.ช่วงเฟื่องฟู (พ.ศ.2516-2517) อัลบั้มดั๊บเกิดขึ้นมากมายพร้อมกับแพร่กระจายวัฒนธรรมไปยังประเทศอังกฤษ 4.ช่วงถดถอย (พ.ศ.2523) ดนตรีดั๊บเสื่อมความนิยมลงหลังจากเกิดแนวดนตรีใหม่ที่เรียกว่าแดนซ์ฮอลล์ วัฒนธรรมดนตรีดั๊บเริ่มปรากฏในประเทศไทยตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ.2546 เป็นต้นมา สามารถแบ่งออกได้เป็น 3 ช่วงคือ 1.ช่วงเริ่มต้น (พ.ศ.2546-2549) เกิดผลงานดั๊บชิ้นแรกในประเทศไทยจากศิลปิน Ga-pi หรือที่รู้จักกันในชื่อ แก๊ป ที-โบน ในมินิอัลบั้ม Dub Kitchen 2.ช่วงพัฒนา (พ.ศ.2550-2553) วัฒนธรรมดนตรีดั๊บเริ่มปรากฏขึ้นเป็นที่รู้จักในสังคมไทยเช่นเดียวกับศิลปินและผลงานที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น 3.ช่วงเติบโต (พ.ศ.2554-2560) ศิลปินดั๊บและอัลบั้มดั๊บปรากฏขึ้นเป็นจำนวนมาก มีการจัดงานดนตรีดั๊บมากขึ้น การเกิดขึ้นของไมยราบซาวด์ซิสเต็มส่งผลให้เกิดการแพร่กระจายวัฒนธรรมดนตรีดั๊บในประเทศไทยได้อย่างชัดเจน และผลงาน Respect dub จากศิลปิน แก๊ป ที-โบน แสดงออกถึงวัฒนธรรมดนตรีดั๊บได้อย่างชัดเจน

Objectives of this research are to study the origin and development of Jamaica dub and Thai dub music culture, including the study and analysis of the song Respect dub song by Jessada Theeraphinun aka Gap T-Bone. The study shows that dub music culture was emerged in Jamaica in 1967 which can be divided into 4 periods: 1) Beginning (1967) by the removal of vocal track on reggae music done by an audio engineer Smithy, leaving only instrumental parts strictly used by sound system owner 2) Developing (1968-1972) when the recording system has changed, non-vocal version appeared on B-side of the singles which led the deejays to toast over 3) Golden age (1973-1974) the flourished of dub albums were released to the market and spread over to England 4) Declining (1980) when dub music in Jamaica lose its popularity after the emerge of a new music genre called dancehall. Dub music culture emerged in Thailand in 2003 which can be divided into 3 periods: 1) Beginning (2003-2006) when the 1st Thai dub mini-album Dub Kitchen made by Ga-pi, the solo artist under the creative management of Gap T-Bone 2) Developing (2007-2010) Thailand dub music culture became widely known and popular among Thai artists and their album makings 3) Growing (2011-2017) there are significantly numbers of dub artists and musical works appeared, and the common music festivals in dub context happened. The solid activities of dub comunity Miyalap sound system have clearly contributed to the acculturation of dub music culture in Thailand. The song Respect Dub, produced by Gap T-Bone is the clearly showcase of dub music culture within the Thai context
