Abstract

ชีวิตในสภาพสังคมปัจจุบันต้องดิ้นรนเพื่อให้สามารถดำรงอยู่ได้ตามอัตภาพ ไม่ว่าจะอยู่ในฐานะใดในสังคม การหลั่งไหลเข้ามาในเมืองใหญ่เพื่อมาหางานทำและประกอบอาชีพ เป็นสิ่งที่พวกเขาคิดว่าจะเป็นหนทางที่จะนำไปสู่สิ่งที่ดีกว่าในชีวิตของพวกเขาและกำลังเป็นอยู่ คาดหวังในสิ่งที่ต้องการ แต่สิ่งที่ต้องการก็ไม่ได้เที่ยงตรงเสมอไป บางรายอาจพบกับสิ่งที่ตัวเองหวังเอาไว้ แต่ในบางรายต้องตกอยู่ในสภาพที่ต้องใช้ชีวิตเพื่อความอยู่รอดหาที่หลับที่นอนเพื่อให้ค่ำคืนผ่านพ้นไปและใช้ชีวิตในวันใหม่กับสิ่งที่ตนเองหวังและต้องการ การดำเนินชีวิตของคนในกลุ่มนี้เป็นการใช้ชีวิตที่เรียบง่าย โดยการหลับนอนในพื้นที่สาธารณะต่าง ๆ ที่น่าสนใจคือการใช้เก้าอี้สาธารณะในการหลับนอนเป็นการกำหนดขอบเขตพื้นที่ในการนอนของตัวเองให้อยู่ในสัดส่วนที่ตนเองสามารถควบคุมได้เป็นการยกตัวเองให้สูงขึ้นจากพื้นเพื่อป้องกันอันตรายต่าง ๆ และใช้เก้าอี้สาธารณะเป็นเหมือนบ้านของตัวเองในช่วงระยะเวลาหนึ่งพักผ่อนในท่าทางที่ดูแล้วไม่มีความสบาย เป็นการนอนเพื่อให้คืนวันนั้นผ่านไปและใช้ชีวิตในวันใหม่ ข้าพเจ้าอาศัยเรื่องราวของกลุ่มคนที่ไม่มีบ้านอยู่หลับนอนบนเก้าอี้สาธารณะมาเป็นแรงบันดาลใจในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานในหัวข้อ “บ้านสาธารณะ” เพื่อบอกให้สังคมได้รับรู้และเห็นในสิ่งที่ข้าพเจ้ากำลังคิดและหวังว่ามันเป็นปัญหาที่รอการแก้ไข ถึงแม้ว่าผลงานในการสร้างสรรค์ของข้าพเจ้าจะเสร็จสิ้น แต่ในความเป็นจริงปัญหาเหล่านี้ก็ยังดำเนินอยู่

To live in this society at present, people have to struggle to survive despite their status in the society. The stream of migration to the big city for employment is what they consider as the best solution that might provide them the better way of living : expecting for their needs, however, the outcome is uncertain. Some may find what they have been wish for while others might have to be in the position that they have to live day by day, just finding some place to sleep, waiting for the nights passing by to fight for the new day, participating for what they hope and wish for. The way of living of these groups of people is simple, theoretically by sleeping in any public areas. The most interesting observation is the use of public benches to sleep as the set up for their sleeping territories, which they are able gto control. The benches are used to lift them up from the ground in order to protect them from harms, and as their resting home for a period of time. Resting in such posture that consider as completely comfortless is only for sleeping for the night so that tomorrow will come and they can go on living. I use the story of homeless people, who have to sleep on the public benches, as an inspiration to create the work under the subject of “Open Home” to be a representative to inform the society in order that they can behold of what I have in mind. Hopefully that it would be the problem that is waiting to be solved, even though my creation is completed, but in reality the problem still remains.
