Its zenith was achieved during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Contemporary Shiwan Kiln cookware, with its significant cultural and historical importance, encounters challenges including seepage problems and outdated designs. These issues have resulted in a decreased interest among younger generations. The researcher was a seasoned kiln artist with over three decades of experience. This study employed a practice-based, mixed-methods approach to tackle these issues. The study sought to achieve three objectives: firstly, it examined the existing condition of Shiwan Kiln cookware and identified areas that needed improvement; secondly, it established a framework for enhancing the quality of Shiwan Kiln cookware, leading to the creation of prototypes; and thirdly, it evaluated the new Shiwan Kiln cookware. The research methodology utilized a comprehensive multi-phase mixed-methods approach, which involved conducting literature reviews, interviewing experts, administering questionnaires, conducting laboratory testing, and obtaining expert evaluations. The research samples included a diverse range of sources, such as literature on Shiwan Kiln and minimalist-modern aesthetic theory, insights gathered from anonymous participants through questionnaires, and input from experts who specialized in fields related to Shiwan Kiln. The study progressed through three distinct stages. It involved conducting a thorough analysis of existing literature and gathering qualitative data. The primary objectives of the research include: 1) The layout method of the vertical dimension; 2) The color configuration preferences; 3) Emotional matching model construction of the interior surface form. The research employed a mixed-method approach, integrating both qualitative and quantitative studies. The study collects and analyzes data on joint mobility and visual environment preferences of older adults through tools such as measurements, interviews and questionnaires, respectively. The collected information and data were applied to create a layout methodology for the vertical dimension of the aging-friendly space as well as the visual environment design. The findings indicate that it is essential to integrate the joint mobility factor into the vertical dimensional layout design process. In terms of the visual environment, First, it is recommended to use a high-brightness environment. Ensure the high brightness value of the top surface side surface and leading furniture. As individuals age, they encounter increasing difficulties in performing fundamental daily activities, such as rising from a seated position, ambulating, assuming a seated posture, and maintaining an upright stance. These obstacles impede their capacity to live independently and elevate the probability of falls, which threaten their health and quality of life. The objective of this research is to develop an innovative assistive device to enhance the autonomy and safety of older adults. A multifaceted approach, encompassing literature reviews, on-site observations, questionnaires, and in-depth interviews, was employed to ascertain the actual needs and challenges faced by older adults. Based on this information, I designed and manufactured a user-friendly, safe, comfortable, and cost-effective assistive device. The device accommodates the physiological and cognitive limitations of older adults, with a focus on adjustability and personalisation. The research integrated knowledge from engineering, ergonomics, geriatrics, and psychology to ensure a practical design. During product development, a series of prototype designs and user tests were conducted to optimise functionality and user experience. Results indicated that over 80% of participants expressed satisfaction, with 20% indicating high satisfaction. The remaining 20% were neutral, and no participants reported dissatisfaction. The findings demonstrated that the assistive device effectively enhances the independent mobility of older adults. It enables older adults to move freely within nursing homes, engage in social and leisure activities, and receive support during sitting and standing, reducing the need for assistance from others. The device's feature for getting up reduces the risk associated with standing by incorporating a balanced design. Its adjustable design adapts to different bed types, enhancing the device's universality. Although the product achieved certain results, there are still design limitations requiring further optimisation. In conclusion, this study provides a foundation for designing assistive devices for older adults, which is significant for improving their quality of life, independence, and optimising care services. First of all, through the literature review of the origin and development of Ningxia culture, interior space environment design, university study room-interior space environment design, it lays a theoretical foundation for the follow-up study. Then, by using the research methods of literature research and questionnaire survey, this paper makes an in-depth analysis of the current situation of the interior space environment design of university study room. On this basis, this paper puts forward the principles of interior space environment design of study room in North Minzu University, as well as the design ideas of interior space environment of study room under the background of Ningxia culture. At the same time, it discusses the main points of the indoor space environment design of the university study room, including the functional partition, spatial layout to provide a good study space for students to enhance their learning experience. In addition, this paper also discusses how to integrate the elements of Ningxia national culture, which realizes the inheritance and promotion of Ningxia culture. Finally, this paper discusses the design scheme, summarizes the contributions and shortcomings in the design process, and puts forward suggestions for improvement.
