ความเก็บกด

Abstract

ในสภาวะที่มนุษย์ไม่สามารถจะแสดงความรู้สึกภายในที่มีลักษณะเป็นเชิงปฏิเสธ ไม่พอใจต่อสถานการณ์ต่าง ๆ ได้ด้วยอากัปกิริยาตอบสนองภายนอก เกิดสภาวะของความรู้สึกที่ต้องยับยั้งขึ้นในจิตใจ สภาวะของจิตขณะนั้นเป็นสภาวะของจิตที่เก็บกด (Suppression) ภาวะของจิตดังกล่าวนี้อยู่ในลักษณะของจิตไร้สำนึก (Unconscious Mind) ซึ่งจะถูกเปิดเผยออกมาเมื่อมีสิ่งเร้าภายนอกมากระตุ้น ซึ่งจะมีความเข้มข้นรุนแรงเพียงใดนั้นขึ้นอยู่กับความสามารถในการควบคุมอารมณ์ของแต่ละบุคคล ข้าพเจ้าได้นำภาวะขอจิตที่เก็บกดส่วนตัวนี้มาใช้เป็นพลังในการสร้างสรรค์ทางศิลปขึ้นโดยการ “เปลี่ยนรูป” ของเสื้อผ้า ฟูก หมอน หรือเบาะให้เกิดรูปทรงที่มีลักษณะการสื่อแทนแสดงสภาวะของจิตดังกล่าวที่เกิดขึ้นในจิตใจ

When a human being is in the condition that can not directly express his negative inner feeling toward different surrounding by showing his physical response, there occurs unconsciously in his mind the suppression which can be exposed when there is such external stimulus. The suppression which is more or less intense depends on one’s ability to control the feeling. I have transferred my own suppression by using artistic creativity transforming cloths, quilts, pillows and mattresses to the symbolic forms representing the state of the mind.
