Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มุ่งศึกษาวรรณกรรมล้านนาไทย เรื่องจามเทวีวงศ์ ซึ่งมีต้นฉบับเป็นคัมภีร์ใบลานของวัดสูงเม่น ตำบลสูงเม่น อำเภอสูงเม่น จังหวัดแพร่ ที่ได้จารไว้ในรัชสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระนั่งเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 3 แห่งราชวงศ์จักรี เนื้อหาของวิทยานิพนธ์ได้แบ่งออกเป็น 6 บท บทที่ 1 เป็นบทนำ ชี้แจงเกี่ยวกับความเป็นมาและวิธีดำเนินการวิจัย บทที่ 2 ความรู้ทั่วไปเกี่ยวกับจามเทวีวงศ์ ศึกษาลักษณะอักษรธรรมล้านนาในจามเทวีวงศ์ พร้อมด้วยเนื้อเรื่องจามเทวีวงศ์โดยสังเขป บทที่ 3 ศึกษาลักษณะภาษาบาลีที่ใช้ในจามเทวีวงศ์ ว่าด้วยการศึกษาภาษาบาลีในล้านนาไทยในอดีต การสร้างศัพท์วิสามัญ และการสร้างประโยคตลอดจนความบกพร่องในการจาร บทที่ 4 ศึกษาจามเทวีวงศ์ในเชิงวรรณกรรมประวัติศาสตร์ บทที่ 5 ศึกษาวิเคราะห์จามเทวีวงศ์ในเชิงสังคม วัฒนธรรม ประเพณี ศาสนา และคติความเชื่อ และ บทที่ 6 เป็นบทสรุปและข้อเสนอแนะ การศึกษาวิเคราะห์เรื่องจามเทวีวงศ์ ซึ่งเป็นผลวานของท่านมหาปราชญ์ พระโพธิรังสีมหาเถระ ชาวล้านนาไทย ทำให้เข้าใจลักษณะอักษรธรรมล้านนาที่จารเป็นภาษาบาลี ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นว่าอักษรบางตัวใช้แทนกันได้ เช่น ในกรณีของอักษร ถ แทนอักษร ฐ เป็นต้น และเป็นผลสะท้อนให้ความกระจ่างแจ้ง ความเป็นมาของเมืองหริภุญชัย ตลอดถึงชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ สังคม วัฒนธรรม ประเพณี ศาสนาและคติความเชื่อของชาวล้านนาไทยในสมัยนั้นด้วย.

The aim of this thesis is to study a Lanna Thai literary work, Camadevivamsa, the original writing of which was inscribed in the reign of King Rama III on palm leaves presently preserved in the archives of Wat Soongmen at Soongmen district of Phrae province. The thesis consists of 6 chapters the first of which gives statement of the problem and the research method. Chapter 2 deals with a general information on the Camadevivamsa, the Lanna script in the text and the synopsis of the work. Chapter 3 concerns the Pali usage in the Camadevivamsa, Pali study in the Lanna Thai realm, word and sentence forming and the oversights in the text are also pointed out. The fourth chapter depicts the Camadevivamsa in the light of historical literature ; the culminating fifth analyses social, cultural, traditional, religious and spiritual conventions in the Camadevivamsa. Conclusion and recommendations are presented in the final chapter. The analytical study of the Camadevivamsa of Phra Boodhirangsi Mahathera, a renowned Lanna Thai savant, offers crystal insight of the characteristics of Lanna script in Pali. It justifies incidental substitutions of the alphabets th (ถ) and th (ฐ) for instance, and reflects the pellucidness of the famed Haripunjai glorious existence and the social, cultural, religious ways of life of the people of that epoch.
