การวิเคราะห์จิตรกรรมฝาผนังเรื่องอดีตพระพุทธเจ้าในพระอุโบสถวัดบวรสถานสุทธาวาส

Abstract

จากการศึกษาพบว่าเนื้อเรื่องอดีตพุทธเจ้าที่เคยนิยมเขียนมาแต่ครั้งโบราณ ได้ถูกปรับเปลี่ยนรูปแบบจากการเขียนพระอดีตพุทธเจ้าที่เดิมเคยประทับนั่งใต้ต้นไม้มีพระสาวกกระทำอัญชลีขนาบข้าง มาเป็นการเขียนบรรยายด้วยเนื้อหาของฉากและเหตุการณ์คล้ายประวัติพระสมณโคดม ซึ่งเริ่มเขียนขึ้นในสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระนั่งเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 3 ดังปรากฏภาพจิตรกรรมภายในพระวิหาร วัดสุทัศน์เทพวรารามราชวรมหาวิหาร ด้วยเนื้อหาที่นำมาเขียนนั้นมาจากคัมภีร์สำคัญทางพระพุทธศาสนา เพื่อผลการในอบรม สั่งสอนผู้คนเรื่องคุณธรรมและการบำเพ็ญเพียร วิธีการนำเสนอที่วัดบวรสถานสุทธาวาสแห่งนี้มีลักษณะที่สืบเนื่องมาจากเมื่อครั้งสมัยรัชกาลที่ 3 ด้วยโครงเรื่องและรูปแบบที่สืบทอดจากครั้งต้นกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ ต่างกันเพียงที่วัดแห่งนี้สอดแทรกวิธีการนำเสนอแบบตะวันตกสอดแทรกเข้ามากำหนดรูปแบบการนำเสนอให้ต่างไปจากงานในยุคต้นแบบอย่างเด่นชัด เช่น การสร้างจุดเด่นของภาพโดยเลือกใช้ฉากปราสาท การเขียนแบบผลักระยะใกล้ ไกลตามหลักทัศนียวิทยา การเขียนภาพตามแนวสัจนิยมและการไม่เขียนภาพที่แสดงอิทธิฤทธิ์ปาฏิหาริย์ ฯลฯ มุมมองตะวันตกเหล่านี้ปรากฏขึ้นในช่วงปลายสมัยรัชกาลที่ 3 สืบเนื่องถึงสมัยรัชกาลที่ 4 และใช้กำหนดวิธีการนำเสนองานจิตรกรรมอย่างเคร่งครัดทุกตารางนิ้วบนผนัง อาจกล่าวได้ว่า งานจิตรกรรมวัดบวรสถานสุทธาวาสแห่งนี้ เป็นงานจิตรกรรมที่ผสมผสานความเป็นไทยประเพณีที่จัดแสดงด้วยเนื้อหา รูปแบบตัวละครและองค์ประกอบตามอย่างอัตลักษณ์ไทยแต่จิตรกรใช้เทคนิคการนำเสนอผ่านเทคนิคตะวันตกที่ได้รับเข้ามาในช่วงนั้น ผสมผสานกันจนกลายเป็น งานจิตรกรรมตะวันตกพบตะวันออกที่สมบูรณ์ที่สุดแห่งหนึ่ง

This study we found that the content of the previous Buddha, which was famous exhibited with the scene of previous Buddha sat under the tree surrounded by this disciples beside his throne, written on the wall in the ancient time, had been changed into displayed the description of many scenes and story which was originated from Tripitaka and relevant documents (The present Lord Buddha’s story), those was showed at the Vihara of Wat Suthatthepwararam in the reign of King Rama III in order to teach the layman about their virtue and ethics in Thai society. This mural painting of Wat Bawornsthansutthawas was derived the mural art forms from Wat Suthatthepwararam in the previous period by displayed the ancient context, Human’s characteristics and Ornaments and so on. Which was the same style of King Rama III’s reign. But the usage of western technic obviously adapted into that work form by showing the prominent point from the castle’s scene, perspective method to display the real viewpoint and exhibited the reality scene of non display miracle scene at all. These western methods and technics were emerged in this temple in transition period between the reign of King Rama III and IV due to trading and exchanging some culture of Thai and Western countries that arrived in that time. By the way, This must be become the new style of the traditional Thai mural painting, blended with Western technics until it was probably renamed it as “THE EAST MEET WEST” definitely and completely.
