อุโบสถกับการก่อสร้างเป็นอาคารหลายชั้นในสังคมไทย

Abstract

วัตถุประสงค์ในการวิจัยเพื่อให้ทราบ และเข้าใจการเปลี่ยนแปลงแนวคิดที่ส่งผลให้เกิดการสร้างอุโบสถเป็นอาคารหลายชั้น ซึ่งจากการค้นคว้า และเก็บข้อมูลภาคสนาม สามารถจำแนกรูปแบบอุโบสถ ได้ดังนี้ 1. อุโบสถแบบอาคารชั้นเดียวที่มีห้องใต้ดิน 2. อุโบสถแบบอาคารที่ยกพื้นสูงชั้นล่างเป็นห้องโถง 3. อุโบสถแบบอาคารชั้นซ้อน 4. อุโบสถแบบอาคารหลายชั้นที่อยู่ในผังร่วมกับเจดีย์และวิหาร อุโบสถที่สร้างเป็นอาคารหลายชั้นส่วนมากยังอิงการตกแต่งตามอุโบสถแบบประเพณีนิยม แต่มีรายละเอียดในการประดับที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไป เช่น การใช้คอนกรีต กระเบื้องเคลือบสี หรือใช้วัสดุอื่น ๆ ในการก่อสร้าง ทำให้ลักษณะลายแบบเครื่องไม้ถูกลดทอนการสะบัดพลิ้วลงรวมไปถึงการพยายามแสดงลักษณะของวัสดุชนิดใหม่ที่นำมาใช้ก่อสร้างให้มีความชัดเจนมากขึ้น อุโบสถในแบบต่าง ๆ ข้างต้นล้วนมีแนวคิดในการก่อสร้างร่วมกัน คือ ความต้องการใช้พื้นที่ภายในวัดเพื่อประโยชน์ในกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ที่เกิดขึ้น แม้จะพบว่าอุโบสถหลายชั้นบางแห่งจะสร้างขึ้นเพื่อการแก้ปัญหา และการอนุรักษ์ เช่น กรณีน้ำท่วมอุโบสถ หรืออุโบสถที่ทรุดโทรมมาก อย่างไรก็ตามผลการศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นว่าอุโบสถที่สร้างเป็นอาคารหลายชั้นในสังคมไทยปัจจุบัน ได้สะท้อนภาพพุทธศาสนาเชิงพุทธพาณิชย์ อันกลายมาเป็นปรัชญา และลักษณะเด่นของสถาปัตยกรรมพุทธศาสนาสมัยใหม่ ที่เน้นการออกแบบโดยยึดประโยชน์ใช้สอยเป็นสำคัญ

This research is aimed to comprehend the character of multi tired building. The study focuses on those which classified into 4 groups as follow ; 1. Ubosoth : The building with basement. 2. Ubosoth : The building with platform, in a function as hall. 3. Ubosoth : The building with overlie. 4. Ubosoth : The building with multi tired in a plan of Chedi and Vihar. The conclusions of this research can be summarized as follow ; 1. Mostly the multi tire of Ubosoth designs the decoration in a popular traditional form. Some buildings add new features viz concrete, color tile or other materials in construction. Moreover, they always show the new identity of building clearly. 2. Although the multi tired Ubosoths have the various style, they still have a same idea. Their concepts reflect the using of temple’s area in a worthwhile religious activity. Some partly create the multi tired buildings for solving the flood’s problem. However, the concepts of their construction seem to change completely, from the worship buildings become the commercial Buddhist construction in context of Thai society.
