การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมาย เพื่อศึกษาแบบอย่างและรูปแบบลักษณะของงานจิตรกรรมฝาผนังที่พบในกรุพระปรางค์วัดราชบูรณะ จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา ซึ่งเป็นจิตรกรรมที่อยู่ในสมัยอยุธยาตอนต้น ราวพุทธศตวรรษที่ 20 โดยการสำรวจและเก็บข้อมูล เพื่อนำมาวิเคราะห์ ทั้งกรุล่าง เพื่อนำมาเชื่อมโยงถึงอิทธิพลทางศิลปะที่ส่งผลถึงรูปแบบของงานจิตรกรรมในสมัยอยุธยาตอนต้น ด้วยการเก็บข้อมูลที่มีทั้งการถ่ายภาพ การคัดลอกลายเส้น และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยเฉพาะการเขียนภาพพระอดีตพุทธเจ้า และนำมาเปรียบเทียบหาความสัมพันธ์และความต่อเนื่องของภาพอดีตพุทธเจ้าที่เขียนในช่วงเวลาที่ใกล้เคียงกัน ได้แก่
1. จิตรกรรมฝาผนังในคูหาปรางค์ประธานวัดมหาธาตุ จังหวัดราชบุรี
2. จิตรกรรมฝาผนังในคูหาปรางค์วัดนครโกษา จังหวัดลพบุรี
3. จิตรกรรมฝาผนังในคูหาปรางค์ประธาน วัดพระราม จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา
4. จิตรกรรมฝาผนังในคูหาปรางค์ ทิศตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือของปรางค์ประธานวัดมหาธาตุ จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา
จากผลของการศึกษาภาพจิตรกรรมฝาผนังในกรุพระปรางค์วัดราชบูรณะนั้น ทำให้ได้ข้อสังเกตที่น่าสนใจ โครงสร้างของภาพส่วนรวมน่าจะเกิดจากการใช้เส้นเรขาคณิต มีการจัดลำดับภาพต่อเนื่องและสัมพันธ์กันโดยแบ่งการจัดตำแหน่งของภาพและเนื้อหา และมีแบบอย่างความสัมพันธ์ของศิลปะที่ปรากฏทำให้ทราบว่ามีการเชื่อมโยงกับหลากหลายเชื้อชาติ รวมถึงการรับอิทธิพลศิลปะในยุคสมัยต่าง ๆ ที่ยังคงมีวัฒนาการสืบเนื่อง ทั้งคติความเชื่อ ค่านิยม ซึ่งทำให้การศึกษารูปแบบของงานจิตรกรรมในสมัยอยุธยาตอนต้นมีความชัดเจนและมีข้อมูลประเด็นเพื่อเปรียบเทียบที่น่าสนใจมากยิ่งขึ้น
This research aims to study patterns and characters of murals, found in crypts of Pang, Wat Ratchaburana Ayutthaya. Based on analytical exploration and collection of information from the both upper and lower crypts, the murals were estimated that they should had been drawn around in B.D. 20th . In addition, experts used the information that was by photographs and copies of paintings employed to search for comparative relations and continuity, including comparison among painted Buddha images in crypts, built in the same periods of early Ayutthaya such as :
1. The murals in crypts of principal Prang, Wat Mahathad, Ratchaburi.
2. The murals in crypts of Prang, Wat Nakhorn Kosa, Lopburi.
3. The murals in crypts of principal Prang, Wat Praram, Ayutthaya.
4. The murals in crypts of Prang, situated at northwest of principal Prang, Wat Mahathad, Ayutthaya.
Based on the consequences of the study of murals in the both crypts of Prang in Wat Ratchaburana, The overall structures of murals are possibly consisted of geometrical line. Because of being continuously and relatively ordered to be as structures of the murals. Besides, the relationship, appeared in murals allows us to find out the early Ayutthaya had the relationship with various races such as Chinese, Indian, Persian, and Burmese. Furturemore, arts of previous eras were also persistently developed from such as the arts of Lopburi, Uthong, Sukhothai, including influence to Lanna. As above, the study of art pattern of early Ayutthaya could be clearer. Based on the consequences of the study, there are interesting notices in terms of acquiring influences, ideas & beliefs, and values. Comparisons among the remaining early-Ayutthaya murals strengthen the existing evidences to be more obvious and confident. In addition, acquiring patterns of arts into combination of the early Ayutthaya art seems to be roots of next step to study with daily lives or popular arts during the early Ayutthaya period.
