จิตรกรรมฝาผนังภาพไตรภูมิโลกสัณฐานในอุโบสถวัดสุวรรณาราม บางกอกน้อย ธนบุรี : ความเหมือนคล้ายและความแตกต่างกับที่อุโบสถวัดดุสิดาราม บางกอกน้อย ธนบุรี

Abstract

การศึกษาในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อทำความเข้าใจเรื่ององค์ประกอบภาพไตรภูมิในงานจิตรกรรมฝาผนัง โดยจะใช้อุโบสถวัดสุวรรณาราม บางกอกน้อย ธนบุรี เป็นกรณีศึกษาและเพื่อความเข้าใจชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้นในเรื่องของรูปแบบศิลปะ จึงได้ศึกษาเพิ่มเติมด้วยการเปรียบเทียบความเหมือนคล้ายและความแตกต่างระหว่างจิตรกรรมฝาผนังในอุโบสถวัดสุวรรณารามกับภาพจิตรกรรมฝาผนังในอุโบสถวัดดุสิดาราม บางกอกน้อย ธนบุรี ผลการศึกษาพบว่า 1. จิตรกรรมฝาผนังภาพไตรภูมิโลกสัณฐานที่วัดสุวรรณารามมีลักษณะของภาพโดยรวมเป็นเรื่องของไตรภูมิที่สืบทอดมาตั้งแต่สมัยสุโขทัย ที่มีทั้งความเหมือนคล้ายและความแตกต่างกับที่วัดดุสิดาราม 2. จิตรกรรมที่วัดสุวรรณารามมีภาพพุทธประวัติแทรกอยู่อย่างชัดเจน เห็นได้จากภาพวาดที่มีขนาดใหญ่ เช่น พุทธประวัติตอนเทศนาโปรดพุทธมารดาบนสวรรค์ชั้นดาวดึงส์ ลักษณะดังกล่าวย่อมมีผลต่อองค์ประกอบภาพโดยรวม ดังนั้นเพื่อความเหมาะสมของภาพที่มีพื้นที่จำกัด ช่างจึงต้องลดองค์ประกอบอื่น ๆ ลง 3. องค์ประกอบภาพจิตรกรรมฝาผนังภาพไตรภูมิโลกสัณฐานที่วัดสุวรรณารามต่างกับภาพไตรภูมิที่วัดดุสิดารามที่ยังคงแสดงภาพไตรภูมิอย่างละเอียดตามแบบแผนของจักรวาลวิทยา

The study aims at understanding the compositions of Tribhumi mural paintings. In this study, the ordination hall at Suwannaram temple, Bangkoknoi, Thonburi is used as a case study. Additionally, in order to have a clearer understanding of the art characteristics, there is also a further study on the similarities and differences between the mural painting in Suwannaram temple, Bangkoknoi, Thonburi and that in Dusitdaram temple. The findings are as follows : 1) The Tribhumi mural painting at Suwannaram temple primarily concerns the story of three worlds inherited from the Sukhothai Period. This is both similar to and different from the one at Dusitdaram temple. 2) The mural painting at Suwannaram temple apparently contains the pictures depicting the biography of Lord Buddha as can be seen by the obviously large size of the painting, such as the Lord Buddha preached his mother in the Tavatimsa Heaven. This feature affects the overall compositions of the painting. Thus, in order for the painting to fit in the limited area, the artists were required to reduce some elements in the compositions. 3) The compositions of the Tribhumi mural painting at Suwannaram temple is different from the one at Dusitdaram temple, which depicts the three worlds in details according to the norm of the study of the universe.
