รูปแบบศิลปะบนแผ่นภาพจารึกลายเส้นเรื่องชาดกของวัดศรีชุม จังหวัดสุโขทัย

Abstract

การศึกษาเกี่ยวกับรูปแบบศิลปะบนแผ่นภาพจารึกลายเส้นเรื่องชาดกของวัดศรีชุม จังหวัดสุโขทัย มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษารูปแบบศิลปะและกำหนดอายุภาพจารึกลายเส้นเรื่องชาดก โดยการวิเคราะห์เปรียบเทียบกับงานศิลปกรรม ณ ที่แห่งอื่น ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ภาพจารึกลายเส้นเรื่องชาดกของวัดศรีชุม แสดงอิทธิพลศิลปะลังกา พม่า เขมร และจีน นอกจากนี้ก็ยังมีรูปแบบศิลปะที่สืบทอดมาจากงานปูนปั้นกลุ่มหนึ่งที่ขุดค้นได้จากวัดพระพายหลวง จังหวัดสุโขทัย และอยู่ในช่วงระยะเวลาไล่เลี่ยกับรอยพระพุทธบาท จากเขานางทอง จังหวัดกำแพงเพชร กับจิตรกรรมฝาผนังที่วัดเจดีย์เจ็ดแถว จังหวัดสุโขทัย ซึ่งสร้างขึ้นหลังกว่าเล็กน้อย ดังนั้นภาพจารึกลายเส้นเรื่องชาดกของวัดศรีชุม จึงควรมีอายุอยู่ราวปลายพุทธศตวรรษที่ 19

The main objective of the research on the artistic styles of stone – slab engravings representing Jataka at Wat Sri Chum, Sukhothai Province is to study the artistic styles and dating by means of comparative analysis with art objects in the other places. The results of the study indicate that the artistic styles of stone – slab engraving at Wat Sri Chum have in fluence on Sinhalese, Burmese, Khmer and Chinese arts. Besides, its style derived from the artistic styles of the stucco images found at Wat Pra-Pai Luang in Sukhothai and was approximately in the same period of the Buddha foot-print from Khao Nang Thong in Kampangpetch and a little bit earlier than the mural painting at Wat Chedi Chet Thaew, Sri Satchanalai. Thus, the dating of the artistic styles of stone-slab engraving representing Jataka at Wat Sri Chum should be dated in the late of 19th century B.E. or the first half of the 14th century A.D.
